Day 1 – Tuesday, May 9th
Motor-coach transportation to Minneapolis Airport, and overnight flight to Italy. Flying into Paris and then a connecting flight to Florence.
Day 2 – Wednesday, May 10th
Montecatini – Arrive and transfer to Montecatini for check-in. The day is at leisure. “Welcome Dinner” and orientation meeting. Hotel Columbia or similar, Montecatini (D)
Day 3 – Thursday, May 11th
Florence – Hotel breakfast. Full-day guided tour of Florence including the historic city center and Academia Museum, home of Michelangelo’s “David.” Hotel dinner. Montecatini (B,D)
Day 4 – Friday, May 12th
Venice – Hotel breakfast. Full-day tour to Venice including a walking tour of Piazza San Marco, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Piombi Prisons. The afternoon is at leisure. Late dinner at our hotel. Montecatini (B,D)
Day 5 – Saturday, May 13th
Siena & San Gimignano – Hotel breakfast. Depart for Siena through the hills of Chianti. In Siena, view Piazza del Campo and their Medieval towers and walls. Next visit San Gimignano, a charming Medieval hilltop town noted for its towers and views. Hotel dinner. Montecatini (B,D)
Day 6 – Sunday, May 14th
Assisi & Rome – for Rome, with a stop in Assisi to view St. Francis’ Cathedral. Arriving in Rome, check in and hotel dinner. Hotel Tiberio or similar, Rome (B,D)
Day 7 – Monday, May 15th
Rome – Morning tour featuring the most famous monuments and sites of Ancient Rome, and an afternoon tour of Modern Rome. We will see the Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and more! Dinner at our hotel. Rome (B,D)
Day 8 – Tuesday, May 16th
Vatican – After breakfast, visit St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. See Michelangelo’s ‘Creation’ and ‘Last Judgment’. Afternoon drop-off at the Spanish Steps for time at leisure. Hotel dinner. Rome (B,D)
Day 9 – Wednesday, May 17th
Pompeii, Naples & Sorrento – Following breakfast, depart for Sorrento. Stop for a tour of Pompeii’s well-preserved ruins from Roman times. Next we tour of the port city of Naples. Arriving in Sorrento, check in for dinner and overnight. Hotel Michelangelo or similar, Sorrento (B,D)
Day 10 – Thursday, May 18th
Amalfi Coast – Hotel breakfast. Tour one of the world’s most scenic roads – The Amalfi Drive! Our first stop will be above the famous resort of Positano. Then continue to the ancient marine republic of Amalfi with time to visit the Cathedral or explore. Afternoon visit to Ravello. Return to Sorrento for dinner. Sorrento (B,D)
Day 11 – Friday, May 19th
Capri – Ferry to the beautiful Isle of Capri! Capri is very chic with shops, hotels, and restaurants along winding streets. The main square has a pretty white church and open-air cafes. Return to Sorrento for dinner. Sorrento (B,D)
Day 12 – Saturday, May 20th
Return to the United States. After breakfast and hotel check-out, transfer to Naples Airport for your return flight to the US. (B) Flight Naples-Paris-Minneapolis.
