Join JH Travel for a fun day of traveling with friends to see the most up to date quilting options available where a person can shop by collections, shop by designers or shop by style and that is at the Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton, MO. This company is family owned and has purchased many of the closed stores in this small town and have gradually remodeled the empty buildings and have opened a beautiful retreat center.
Our day of travel will begin early with a morning snack along the way, a rest stop enroute and free time at the Missouri Star Quilt Company. Everyone will be hungry for our meal at Gingerich Dutch Pantry in Jamesport where a family style meal will be served. A step on guide will meet us to share Amish history along with a visit to a bulk food store and the Quilt Barn. We will also learn what a “frolic” is! This is what the Amish call a time when several get together for a day of accomplishing a task together and enjoying friendship at the same time. They refer to frolic as being “many hands make for light work” – which we will have the opportunity to see as the Amish ladies will be quilting during our visit.
On our way back to Newton a light evening meal will be served at the Quilt Country Family Restaurant. Everyone will enjoy the beautifully decorated restaurant!
