Our first day will begin with a tour of Isabel Bloom in Davenport, Iowa which will include behind the scenes in the making of each sculpture followed by free time in the gift shop.  Lunch followed by a tour at Lagomarcino’s which is a third generation business that make chocolate, ice cream and especially known for their hot fudge which will be on our sundae!  The next stop is also a sweet one!  Travelers will meet the owners for a tour of Chocolate Manor and learn about the making of their “yummy” treats as well as our favorite thing . . . taste testing (hey, somebody has to do it!!)! Antique Archeology is next on our itinerary for a look at where the American Pickers hang out as shown on the History channel.  We will take a lookie-loo as Mike calls it and then enjoy some free time in LeClaire before arriving for an evening meal at Sneaky Petes.

The next morning the captain of the Twilight River Cruise will meet our group as we board for our very leisurely cruise to the evening accommodations at the Grand Harbor Resort in Dubuque, Iowa.  Quiet and elegant as she slips through the water with three decks to accommodate travelers that enjoy the sundeck with lounge chairs or for those who enjoy an air conditioned temperature.  Our cruise will be 188 mile round trip that will include Captains narration during our cruise that includes:  learning about LeClaire which is the boyhood home of Wild Bill Buffalo Cody, at Fulton, IL the home of the only authentic Dutch, working windmill in Illinois, Pallisades State Park in Savanna, IL, Gothic mansion in Belleville, IA and a National Landmark the Julien Dubuque Monument.  While leisurely enjoying the views don’t worry about food because the chef will be preparing a sumptuous lunch and dinner. After our evening meal we will disembark to our overnight accommodations where you may enjoy a quiet evening or if you feel lucky a visit to the adjacent Diamond Jo Casino might round out your evening.

On Day 3 after enjoying a full buffet breakfast you may board a shuttle that will take you to visit the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, Old Jail Museum, 4th Street Elevator,  Cable Car Square Shopping Center and the Diamond Jo Casino before boarding the Twilight River Cruise steamboat.  Just in time for lunch and an afternoon snack!  Entertainment on board for both days will be music, games or enjoy a leisurely stroll on deck while enjoying the scenery!  Our cruise will come to an end as we make our way back to LeClaire to meet our motor coach. A fast food stop on the way back to Newton is planned.
