This community in Iowa is welcoming the travelers from JH Travel in December and we invite you to join us in learning & exploring this town located west of Des Moines.
Our day will begin with a visit to the Atlantic Coca-Cola Center & Museum where many collectibles will be found before a catered lunch is served at the Rock Island Depot. A lovely array of beautifully decorated Christmas trees awaits our group at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Next on the itinerary is a visit to Plastic Professionals which is a rotational molding company owned and operated by employees. They create items from plastic pellets and turn out products for state lottery displays, amusement parks, boat docks and many other items in the plastics industry. Some free time downtown viewing the decorated store windows and then onto our evening meal at SF Martin House. This beautifully restored Victorian home built in 1873 houses 5 marble & onyx fireplaces, a grand staircase and period chandeliers. Bring warm clothes as we will be viewing the fireworks and lighted parade before departing back to Newton with great memories of this town’s hospitality!
