Day 1 • Monday, July 16, 2012 – Fly to Anchorage
The adventure begins as we head for the Minneapolis airport and our flight to Anchorage, Alaska. Upon our arrival, we will transfer to our downtown hotel where we will check in for the night.

Day 2 • Tuesday, July 17, 2012 – McKinley Explorer and Denali National Park
After breakfast we will soak up some dramatic scenery and enjoy expert narration as we travel aboard the McKinley Explorer in the largest domed railcars on the historic Alaska Railroad. Upon our arrival at Denali National Park we transfer to our resort style lodge surrounded by glorious mountain views for a two-night Denali stay. (B)

Day 3 • Wednesday, July 18, 2012 – Park Tour
We enjoy breakfast again this morning before we board our transportation for the scenic tour into the wilderness of Denali National Park. The tour takes us on a ride through moose habitat and out to Primrose Ridge. Along the way we are likely to see bears, moose, elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and many other “critters”. With luck we will see Mount McKinley itself. After our tour, we return to the McKinley Chalets for our overnight. There will be many optional tours available for the remainder of the day. (B)

Day 4 • Thursday, July 19, 2012 – McKinley Explorer Fairbanks
The morning is free for optional activities including a free shuttle to the unique visitor center located directly across from the train station. This afternoon we re-board the McKinley Explorer bound for Fairbanks, Alaska’s “Golden Heart” city. Upon our arrival we will be transferred from the train to our hotel for a two-night stay. Dinner this evening will be at one of Fairbank’s popular restaurants. (B,D)

Day 5 • Friday, July 20, 2012 – River Boat Discovery, Gold Dredge #8
A full day is planned today. After breakfast we board the Sternwheeler Discovery Paddlewheel and travel down the Nanana River to the Eskimo Village. Here we will learn about the culture of these Native Americans. We then return to Fairbanks for a visit to Gold Dredge No.8. After lunch we learn about gold mining and have a chance to pan for gold. Next on the agenda is a Salmon Bake at Alaska Land Theme Park, an all you can eat dinner with barbequed salmon, halibut, or beef (if you wish). (L, D)

Day 6 • Saturday, July 21, 2012 – Beaver Creek
We find ourselves in true wilderness today as we board our explorer coach for the trip to Beaver Creek Yukon Territory. We pass through the Tetlin Wildlife Refuge, the Wrangell Mountains, Delta Junction, and more. Lunch is included in Tok. A stop will be made at Rika’s Road House for a rest break before traveling on to Beaver Creek and the famed Yukon Rendezvous Dinner Show. (L, D)

Day 7 • Sunday, July 22, 2012 – Whitehorse Alaska Highway Sled Dog Camp
Enjoy wide open vistas as the Alaska Highway weaves its way past the St. Elias Mountains and the sparkling waters of scenic Kluane Lake. You will enjoy lunch and a natural history presentation at the entrance of Kluane National Park. Next, meet the charming sled dogs from “Uncommon Journeys” for an orientation into the lives of these amazing animals. Later, we arrive in Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon Territory for our next two nights. The evening is free to relax or explore this frontier town on your own. (L)

Day 8 • Monday, July 23, 2012 – White Horse
White Horse is yours to explore today. You have many options for local sightseeing or the choice of outdoor adventures at nearby Kluane National Park. Your tour director will preview all the options
prior to our arrival in White Horse. (B)

Day 9 • Tuesday, July 24, 2012 Yukon and White Pass Railroad, Skagway
Our travels today take us through an amazing tapestry of ever changing scenery to Fraser. Here we board the historic parlor cars of the White Pass and Yukon Railroad. Travel back in time and through some of Alaska’s most breath taking terrain as we make our way to the historic town of Skagway. The gateway to the Klondike is a living museum of the Gold Rush Days. We now board the ms
Zuiderdam for the Southbound cruise to Vancouver along the famous “Inside Passage.” (D)

Day 10 • Wednesday, July 25, 2012 Cruising Glacier Bay National Park
Stretching north from Cross Sound to the Canadian Border, Glacier Bay National Park is one of the most scenic spots in Alaska. The park contains Mount Fairweather and Glacier Bay. The bay is 65 miles long and 2.5 to 10 miles wide. The park contains some of the most impressive tidewater glaciers
in the world. Icebergs that crack off or calve from the vertical ice cliffs dot the upper bay. We are likely to encounter harbor seals and the occasional whale. (B, L, D)

Day 11 • Thursday, July 26, 2012 Ketchikan Inside Passage Cruising
Alaska’s southern most city sits on stilts at the base of the Tongass National Forest. Ketchikan claims to be the Salmon Capitol of the world. During our visit you will have time to explore historic Creek Street and the Totem Pole Park (admission on your own). Ketchikan is said to have the largest collection of Totem Poles in the world. Day 12 • Friday, July 27, 2012 – Inside Passage Cruising
Today is your day to sit back, relax and enjoy the amenities of 5 star cruising on Holland America. There will be fascinating scenery to view at every turn of our voyage as we travel south along the inside passage to our destination of Vancouver, British Columbia. (B, L, D)

Day 13 • Saturday, July 28, 2012 – Disembark, Flight home
We arrive in Vancouver today and regretfully depart the ship for the airport and our flight home with many fond memories of our journey to Alaska, “The Last Frontier”. (B)
