Join JH Travel for our very first adventure to the Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island, IL for a musical matinee comedy entitled “Sister Act”. Upon arrival our group will be seated followed by lunch which will be served by the Bootleggers! Sit back and relax to enjoy the show! Dessert will be served at intermission.
This Broadway musical comedy is based on the hit 1992 film featuring Whoopi Goldberg and has audiences jumping to their feet! Filled with powerful music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story about a woman in hiding in a convent who helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she discovers her own.
When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in one place the cops are sure she won’t be found; a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.
