Where, oh where is our motor coach going to take the JH Travel gang on Thursday, September 6, 2012?  Board the motor coach, sit back and relax as we visit the towns of Greenfield, Macedonia, Avoca, Carson & Pacific Junction – all in Iowa – we promise!

A step back in time to see how early aviation began, see beautiful antique aircrafts, exciting stories of early aviators and aviation memorabilia will greet us at the Iowa Aviation Museum in Greenfield.  Talk about early gliders being pulled by a horse, a record of 27 days in an airplane while looking inside one of those cockpits – unreal! A travel down the road (not by airplane) will take us to the Back Forty at Macedonia for lunch before departing for Avoca to visit Farmall-Land USA.  This hidden Iowa treasure has 26,500 square foot of more than 150 IH full-size tractors, pedal tractors, toy tractors and other IH memorabilia.  Each tractor is accompanied by informational material highlighting its history, uses and unique characteristics. If you need a quick rest, relax in the “Tractor Widows Lounge”! The Pottery by the Creek at Carson is next on our list as we meet artist Paul Koch whom does pottery and ceramic sculptures.  He will be throwing the clay as he visits with travelers and answers questions about his talents.  A studio displays his many finished products.  Our Hawkeye Stages motor coach will then depart for Pacific Junction for a special treat! The villa type castle awaits our group and is situated in a beautiful landscape that includes hills, a relaxing fountain in a pond all set up for a tour and will include a relaxing evening meal for JH Travel travelers to conclude our day!

As we have not toured a lot of western Iowa we will be in for a treat! Hope to have you join us for the “A Day of Iowa Touring . . .GMACP”!
