Join JH Travel on a relaxing spring weekend getaway celebrating that we are getting close to warmer weather and planning outside activities! So, why not join JH Travel for a wine, food & meeting new friends! Great time for couples as well as a ladies weekend getaway!
This is our first wine tour and we look forward to having you join us! We will begin by boarding the Hawkeye Stages motor coach and traveling to the Brick Arch Winery in West Branch where a wine tasting, sharing winery experiences, learn what type of wine to serve with which food, tour and of course. . . wine tasting will occur! The Sutliff Cider Co in Lisbon is next to observe how their hard cider is made out of apples versus grapes with 6% alcohol content. Carbonated like beer and a natural drink that is gaining popularity and has become a trendy drink! Lunch will be served at Daly Creek Winery & Bistro in Anamosa before a tour, tasting and gift shop time. Tabor Home Winery outside of Baldwin will host our group next which has won many gold medals and “Best of Class” international wine competition. Hum. . smell the wood oven pizza? Our final winery stop for the day will to visit Park Farm Winery in Bankston where we will have tasting, tour and best of all their wood oven pizza before arriving at overnight accommodations in Dubuque at Hotel Julien.
After a buffet breakfast we depart the hotel to arrive at Eagles Landing Bed & Breakfast and Winery residing on the breathtakingly scenic Great River Road in the little river town of Marquette where we will sample International Award winning wines followed by lunch. Winneshiek Wildberry Winery greets us in the rolling hills of Northeast Iowa specializing in fruit and table wines where we will have a tasting, tour and shopping time. Our last winery to visit on our weekend getaway will be Engelbrecht Family Winery in Fredricksburg for a tour & tasting followed by an early evening meal before departing back to Newton.
