Ladies! We have an exciting day planned for you that includes: an opportunity to see beautiful flowers, shopping time, style show, chocolate & candy tour and the opportunity to spend time with friends!
Our day begins with brunch at the Des Moines Botanical Center followed by a tour of the beautifully kept conservatory and indoor garden inside the famous dome! A fashion show with glimpses of autumn trends & styles at Fashion By the Hall Tree in Urbandale with shopping time before we board the coach to our lunch destination at Tulip Tea Room & Gift Shop in Pella. Enjoy lunch in this charming 1915 home that offers a gift shop that offers all kinds of trinkets! Following lunch some free time downtown to visit the bakery & meat market or enjoy the history of the Dutch landscape. Sit back and relax for the drive to Chariton for a visit & tour of Piper’s Old Fashioned Grocery, which has remained a family owned business for many years! Here comes the chocolate part of our day . . a chocolate & candy tour! Awesome!
Our last stop for the day will be at Slykhuis Twilight Tea Room in Williamson for our evening meal. Formerly the Williamson School, it has been renovated for an elegant experience complete with chocolate satin linens. A main entrée choice is needed when making your reservation that includes: pecan pork loin or mushroom/swiss chicken breast. A dinner salad, main entrée with a vegetable, assorted rolls & bread along with your choice of a decadent dessert featured on tiered stands.
